Why We Exist
In today’s post-Christian culture, people are spiritually curious but deeply skeptical of the church. At the same time, many followers of Jesus want to share their faith but feel awkward or unprepared.
The Bruns Tribe exists to bridge that gap by equipping believers to build trusted relationships and share the gospel with compassion and courage, through workshops, storytelling, and resources like Dare to Be Awkward.

Our History
We exist to equip followers of Jesus to build trusted relationships and share the gospel with compassion, curiosity, and courage. We help the Church move beyond its walls so people can encounter Jesus through authentic relationships.

When we returned to the United States, we realized that what we experienced in Europe was no longer distant—it was here. We are now living in a post-Christian culture where many are spiritually curious but cautious, open yet hesitant, searching but unsure who to trust.
The Bruns Tribe was born out of that reality.

We were never supposed to be missionaries.
In 2016, our family stepped into a life we didn’t plan when we moved to Germany after an unexpected corporate transition. What began as a season of uncertainty became an invitation to see the gospel differently—outside of familiar systems, in a culture where faith was no longer assumed or understood.
It was there we learned something we couldn’t ignore: the gospel moves at the speed of trust. The most meaningful conversations about faith didn’t come through arguments or presentations, but through relationships built over time—through listening, shared life, and seeing every person as an image-bearer of God.

Our Values
The Bruns Tribe desires to see followers of Jesus in America living with such relational presence that spiritually disengaged people encounter the gospel through trusted relationships. Who are the spiritually disengaged: People who are skeptical, distant from church, deconstructing faith, curious, wounded, or uncertain about what they believe.
