We Equip Followers of Jesus

to Build Trusted Relationships with the Spiritually Disengaged

Because the best conversations about faith don’t begin with arguments.
They begin with trust.

The Cultural Moment Has Shifted

We are living in a post-Christian culture.

Many people today are spiritually disengaged and skeptical of the church. At the same time, many
followers of Jesus want to share their faith but feel unsure how to do it without sounding pushy,
awkward, or unprepared.

The challenge isn’t simply that people don’t know the gospel.

Often, the deeper challenge is that they don’t trust the messenger.

That’s the gap The Bruns Tribe exists to bridge.

The Bruns Tribe equips followers of Jesus to build trusted relationships and share the gospel in today’s post-Christian culture. We believe meaningful conversations about faith grow out of genuine relationships, not pressure or performance. Through our relational ministry, we engage the spiritually disengaged, those who are skeptical, distant from church, deconstructing faith, curious, wounded, or uncertain about what they believe. Through teaching, storytelling, and practical tools, we help believers rediscover how to live with relational presence so that spiritually disengaged people can encounter Jesus.

How People Encounter Jesus Now

Jesus Image Bearer

At the heart of our approach is a simple belief: every person is created in the image of God.

At the heart of our approach is a simple belief: every person is created in the image of God. That means every conversation begins with dignity, humility, and respect. We believe people are not projects to fix or arguments to win. They are image bearers who are worthy of our curiosity, compassion, and authentic relationships.

For generations, many approaches to evangelism focused on tools trying to share the gospel from shared values or a common moral fabric of society. But in a post-Christian culture, people encounter Jesus differently.

They encounter Him when believers build trust through relational credibility.

Trust Before Tools creates life-giving presence.
Trust Before Tools invites people near.
Trust Before Tools makes space for honest questions and meaningful relationships.

At The Bruns Tribe, we are a relational evangelism ministry helping followers of Jesus build
trusted relationships where spiritually disengaged people can come close enough to encounter Jesus in a post-Christian culture.

"The Most Unlikely Missionaries"

In 2016, Nate and Brittany Bruns, along with their three kids, became what they jokingly call “the least likely missionaries” when they moved to Potsdam, Germany. Missions had never been part of their plan, but after a sudden corporate downsize and a season of wilderness wandering, God reshaped everything they thought they knew about calling, purpose, and provision.

Their years in Europe taught them that transformation happens not through programs, arguments, or events — but through compassion, intentionality, listening like a learner, and seeing all people made in God’s image.

In 2023, they returned to the U.S., bringing those lessons home to continue the work among the growing post-Christian population. Their ministry focuses on engaging both the Church and those who feel distant from it, creating spaces where people can experience Jesus through authentic connection and belonging.

As they describe their mission:

God led us where we never planned to go so we could learn that the most meaningful conversations about faith happen when trust comes first."
